E-Kharid
Haryana Government has also launched revolutionary e-governance initiatives “Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB)” and “e-Kharid portal” to bring transparency at all levels in the crop procurement process in 2020. E-Kharid Portal allows farmers to sell their crops online and receive payment within approximately 72 hours.
This system ensures transparency and timely payments to farmers. The Haryana Government has embarked on a visionary eGovernance initiative, aimed at revolutionizing the food procurement process in the state. This innovative project is designed to ensure that farmers receive Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for their produce while making food grains affordable for the weaker sections. The platform has over 10 lakh farmers registered.
This initiative in-turn shall provide ease of trade to traders and empower farmers by providing real-time information and timely payments. This is a joint initiative of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and Food and Supplies Department, Government of Haryana with Citizen Resources Information Department being the technology partner.
Through this initiative, the complete process of procurement ranging from farmer registration, sale of agricultural produce, payment disbursement and right up to transportation & warehousing (storage) is achieved through the interplay of software applications. Ekharid operates across 22 districts empowering farmers through over 600 600 purchasers, 400+ mandis (markets), 500+ SMCs (Sub-Market Committees), 29,000 agents, 11 lakh farmers, and 500 gatekeepers.
